Sharon Cowan-Sheridan has worked as a speech language pathologist in private and public schools as well as in private practice since 1986. She holds a dual Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Sharon currently holds a license from the Florida Department of Health in Speech Language Pathology and is a member of the American Speech and Language Association.
As a speech language pathologist, Sharon has worked with students with a variety of disabilities such as Specific Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectually Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Selective Mutism and others. Sharon has developed speech, language and academic plans for students struggling with speech and language disorders, social anxiety, executive function difficulties, time management, public speaking, essay writing and overall organizational skills.
Most recently as a high school speech language pathologist, Sharon has worked collaboratively with parents, students, teachers, special educators, advocates and academic coaches to develop personalized plans to meet students’ needs.
